The relationship between communication skills, sensory difficulties, and anxiety in children with autism spectrum disorder

Abstract Background Despite the high prevalence of communicational differences, anxiety, and sensory processing difficulties in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), little is known about nature their experiences. Thus, present study aimed to explore correlation between communication skills, difficulties, anxiety ASD. Fifty-three ASD (M age = 8.51, SD 2.51; males 42) were recruited. The Persian version Short Sensory Profile (SSP), Children’s Communication Checklist (CCC), Spence Anxiety Scale (SCAS) was used assess variables. Results overall score significantly positively correlated most skills ( P < 0.05). negatively all subsets these social relationships had a significant negative positive total related except separation Conclusions appear be associated acts as mediator two.
